naja, wie dem auch sei... ein Künstler, der traumhafterweise mal im kleinen Klub spielen müsste: Frank Black. Hat ja doch etliches veröffentlicht nach der Pixies-Zeit, wird aber immer noch an den alten Produktionen gemessen. Inzwischen hat FB singen geübt und auf Platten wie Pistolero, Teenager of the year oder the cult of ray finden sich unsterbliche, extrem griffige Popsongs, die sich unlöschbar in meine hirneigene SD-Card eingebrannt haben. Mittlerweile ist der Dicke mehr und mehr in Richtung Country orientiert. muss ja nicht schlecht sein.

Der Song erzählt die tragische Geschichte des jungen William Radcliffe ('the first boy born in space'), der im Rahmen eines geheimen US-Forschungsprojektes seine ersten 17 Jahre im Weltraum verbrachte. Starke Story, starke Nummer. Klemmt sich erst nach 3-4 mal hören so richtig in die Steigbügel, und erst vor diesem Hintergrund wird der Text richtig genial.
